Ok, so it's media day here on my diary.
We're watching the Academy Awards, which is cool because usually I mean to watch them, and then I forget. There was a montage about screenwriting, with scenes from all different interviews and movies (I'm pretty sure that I caught some His Girl Friday
, I know there was some Moulin Rouge, and there were some scenes with a black and white Johnny Depp movie -- I needed to know what that movie was, as it just looked incredibly intriguing! So, I hit up IMDB, and I'm fairly sure that it's Ed Wood
... which I now need to see. Yes, definitely.
I have a new favorite song at the moment - Emilie Autumn, again, which by now noone should be surprised by. I'm still working my way through her discography, so expect a few more of these over the months ;-) Anyhow, it's a really great remix of Liar
(from Opheliac) which was released on her Liar/Dead Is The New Alive remix album, and it kicks so much ass.
Grab it here!
In other news, my new MacBook Pro laptop is here, and oh it is shiny :D The plan is still to put Debian on it, although there are some documented issues with keyboards and rEFIT that I think I need a different USB keyboard to work around; the one I have doesn't seem to be doing the trick, and it's surprising how many of my keyboards are still PS/2. So, shopping I will go.
No news yet on the whole job situation -- they want to (prospectively) put me at Lockheed, which I'm less than thrilled about, but I'm getting used to the idea. We'll see how it goes...
I'm still waiting to see when I'll be able to get out to St Louis again, but I suppose that's partially my impatience and partially my desire to plan a couple of weeks ahead. I really ought to get used to the idea that throwing some stuff in a bag and taking a 5hour plane ride on a day or two's notice is *really* not that taxing, and certainly won't hurt me any. :-)

If you're going to lockheed be prepared for 50 hour weeks and no remote access.

Forgive my complete incompetence, but wouldn't it be taxing on your wallet?

Heh, if I can plan it in advance, I will, but it doesn't sound like that's all that likely. Any anyway, it's worth it.
And re: Lockheed - yes, I know... but at least I have tbe benefit of apathy. You're definitely right about the remote access thing. I checked during the phone interview we did, and the response was basically "if there's something at home that you really need to work out, we can figure it out."

I fail to see why you wouldn't be able to plan in advance.

Because I don't know yet what my schedule will be, or what Dan's will be! Also, because at the moment the limiting factor is the half-idea of getting a bunch of guildies from WoW to meet up, and if that happens obviously I'd like to be out there for that. I don't want to plan a regular trip to St Louis, and then get the news that everyone's meeting up the next week after, or something like that, and then have to potentially miss it.
I'm kind of just treading water, waiting to hear what's going on.
Thank you, a very interesting note!!....

Strange but true. Your resource is expensive. At least it could be sold for good money on its auction!....
Informative, but not convincing. Something is missing but what I can not understand. But I will say frankly: bright and benevolent thoughts!....
I`m so grateful that you enlightened me and the most important thing that it happened in time. Just think, I have been using the internet for six years already but it`s the first time I`ve ever heard about it!....
