Mollie, the Terror of the Bookshelves

Well, the little miss is definitely settling in. She doesn't need to be around us every moment, and has gotten noticeably better at night. She'll play with her toys (and my pea seedlings, grr), or be spastic in the hallway even when we're not watching. She developed a positive obsession with the bottom shelf of my bookcase on Sunday, and would not abandon the fort, even when forcibly removed several times. I wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't that particular bookcase, really... but that's the one which has all of my old, well-loved paperbacks in it. They don't need to be subjected to my satchel, let alone claws and gnawing. Got some good pictures out of it at least.

I baked a ham last night. Seriously thought that she was going to climb straight into the oven when I tried to take it out.

She's still a sucker for an empty lap, and if Dan and I are playing WoW she'll happily spend the day sleeping on one or the other.

In sequence:

2 minutes later:

30 seconds *later*, after I had swung my legs up onto my desk:

Aaaaaaaaaand later:

I am beginning to feel somewhat taken for granted.

Of course, there is always my personal favorite:

In non cat-related news, Dan's been sick as a dog all weekend. Tried to get some chores done- succeeded with laundry, cleaning the laundry room, getting one birdfeeder up, doing some miscellaneous shopping, doing my taxes, hanging all of the available paintings, pictures and posters, and sorting out things for the fireproof safe. Did not succeed with cleaning the old apartment, pulling up the pricker bushes in the front yard, or making progress on my garden. Seriously, at this rate I'm going to get some posts and 2x4s and just do it that way - I'm sick and fucking tired of waiting for the opportune moment to lay several hundred pounds of stone, and gods know that I can't do it alone.

Whoops - I almost forgot. She's as fascinated by WoW as we are!

When we first got her? Three, probably.

Now, I think she's down to two, maybe two-point-five. That's the problem with variable units of measure! ;-)
